1. What is Nanotechnology
Nanotechnology refers to a field of applied science whose theme is the control of matter on an atomic and molecular scale. Generally nanotechnology is approximately 100 nanometers or smaller and involves developing materials or devices within that size. One nanometer (nm) is one billionth, or 109 of a meter. To put that scale into context, the comparative size of a nanometer to a meter is the same as that of a football to the size of the earth. Or another way of putting it: A nanoparticle is really, really small. And Nanoparticles can help to protect surfaces in a better way.
2. Hydrophobic nanotechnology protect surfaces better
Moisture, rain and UV radiation are the main causes of almost all damage to outdoor furniture and outdoor kitchens made of teak, hardwoods, stainless steel, stone, hardstone, powder coated metals, glass, resin, fabric, etc. Preventing water ingress into the structure of the surface can eliminate or significantly reduce the risk of damage to the furniture caused by moisture. We call this THE LOTUS EFFECT. It helps to slow down the influences of the weathering process.
